OSDRI prides itself on providing veterans a “HAND UP…NOT A HANDOUT” and with over 215 years of military experience on our staff we follow the time honored tradition of “Veterans Serving Veterans”.
MEET THE TEAM
For 25 years, OSDRI has become RI’s primary non-profit organization focused on providing housing, employment and training, legal help, and basic human needs for local veterans.
MEET THE BOARD
Born in Cranston, Nick attended the Community College of Rhode Island and graduated from The University of Tennessee. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve. Nick, and his brothers Ron and Pete owned and operated Cardi’s Furniture & Mattresses, Rhode Island Design Center, and Ashley HomeStores. Nick, along with his brothers have been longtime supporters of OSDRI and more recently, the Boots on the Ground for Heroes Memorial. This year’s 27th Annual Stand Down Weekend is dedicated in memory to our fellow veteran, supporter and friend Nick Cardi who passed away recently at age 71.
